I just returned from my sociology class. All i can say is wow... I mean I understand there is ignorance in the world but come on... seriously people. I don't watch the news, I don't read the paper, and I don't have any kind of internet news feed or subscription and even I know that we're not at war with Arabs, and that people in Kansas do not live on boats. Let's face it, if you live in kansas and you live on a boat, you got some issues.

This girl whoever she is (did not learn her name on purpose because then i would be obligated to tell everyone it and further publicly humiliate her in every facet I have), doesn't pay much attention to the lecture, i notice she sits staring at her phone most of the time, playing with her finger nails or hair. Her first question was, "Aren't the Levanies people the ones bombing us?" almost immediately a girl behind me snickers and chimes in telling her, she herself is Levanies and had lived in Arabian Peninsula and that we (americans) were actually the ones bombing them. The teacher then tries to explain even more simply that it's a terrorist group of cells in these foreign countries that we are combating, not the country themselves. I even put it into laymen terms and tell her, they were similar to our street gangs or mofia, only they have become internationally aggressive. The girl then asks "Aren't we fighting the Arabs." . . . I could tell the teacher was trying not to make this girl look stupid but frankly the deed was already done. This girl simply didn't care to know more than what was put directly in front of her face on every FOX News channel. Hell even FOX News said it was terrorists and not a whole fucking country. The real problem is when idiots like her see the words "WAR on IRAQ" they instantly think we're actually at war with the country, without even looking for any evidence or anything. I saw the bombing of Baghdad on television live, it was night and some idiot reporter thought they would be the most coolest person if they could get the footage live. First of all people, we had and have no right to simply bomb a whole city just because we THINK "der be some terrerishts in der sumwhere". Has anyone seen the actual casualty report or wonder WHY we now have such hostile activity in the Middle East towards Americans?! I don't wonder at all, if you came and bombed my fucking city for no apparent reason and killed my kin or friends I would be pretty fucking pissed to, It would be hard for me not to become a member of the rebellious terrorist group in attempt to get the fucking invaders out. I mean when two neighbors are shouting at each other over something, you don't go over and shove a stick up their asses and expect them to thank you. People HERE don't see this, they think we're simply trying to 'help the heathens' . My honest opinion is their leaders are pretty much doing what we tell them to, because they want us to gtfo (get the fuck out) so they can fix what we've fucked up.
I have no evidence or proof but the whole fucking thing stinks, iraq goes to hell in a handbasket and George W. says, hey now I have an oil company and oil investors with interest in this little country of yours, you're gunna do what i say. Believe what you want I don't give a damn, and honestly i hate speculation like this as well but isn't that what Michael Moore is doing when he pours out these movies like fahrenheit 911 and whatever his new film is called. It's hard not to be skeptical of any/all media source(s) these days.

Then there's this idiot, I'm sorry but we're talking about racism in class and how people may not think they are racist but sometimes mechanically we are. I often times wonder what cultural things 'I DO' that may be subtly racist. There's bound to be some, but it baffles me that some morons think they are perfect and allow now doubt into their mind of inequality as such.

Also, I've been awake for over 26 hours so that probably plays a part in why I can not cope with idiocy today.

Oh and the boat thing, I asked the teacher what cities was our book referring to when it described a possible 2hr commute just to get to a real grocery store or market (my honest ignorance here). The teacher wasn't for sure but explained it would be similar to living in the center of New York, by example, and that you may not have your own form of transportation and that all that was available was the public transportation system. Which very well could take up to 2 hours depending on where you were going. Of corse this idiot hasn't had her fill of moronic questions and she asks me "Did you say you live on a boat or that you drive two hours to your house", now if you know kansas the second part could be possible, driving around here I know some friends who do 1hr commutes but really.... live on a boat...... where............ i............ how do you even get 'boat' out of this conversation, much less even the practicality of it!? For christ sakes people, put your phones away, stop thinking about your plans for tonight and actually contribute to the consciousness around you!
